Dean Healea has had an extensive history with Boston University, serving with Residence Life for fifteen years and teaching as a lecturer with Wheelock College of Education &amp; Human Development\u2019s Higher Education Administration program for over a decade. His scholarly and professional research interests include the history of American higher education, student affairs partnering with academic affairs, and the place of character education, religion, and ethics in higher education. He is currently making final revisions to his first book based on his dissertation research, Daniel L. Marsh and the Spectacular Development of Boston University.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Healea provides consultation for departments and programs regarding all aspects of curriculum development, including the implementation of Boston University\u2019s first university-wide general education program (the BU Hub). He serves as a liaison to the Dean, the Provost, the Registrar and other College\/School leadership regarding a wide array of operational matters such as classroom scheduling, enrollment planning, navigation of the student information system (UIS), and training of staff and faculty on matters related to enrollment management. He represents the College in data collection, assessment, and research projects from the University\u2019s task force on evaluating teaching to its most recent 10-year accreditation by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE). He oversees the creation of a master schedule consisting of nearly 10,000 course sections each year in the college and graduate school. Dean Healea also oversees the promulgating of professional development opportunities for administrative staff within the College. He earned a BA from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he studied Religion and Philosophy, and both an MDiv and an EdD from Boston University.
