Dr. Jenkins worked in the field of literacy as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and teacher educator. She taught courses in literacy and coordinates the elementary education program. In addition to presenting at local and national conferences, she conducted literacy workshops for teachers, parents, and administrators.
