\"\"The Documentation Studio is a resource for educators, preK through higher education, to access the tool of documenting a learning process (e.g., photos, video, transcripts of words) to collaborate and share knowledge and deepen and extend teaching and learning. It is now located at Bunker Hill Community College\u2019s Early Childhood Education Department<\/a> (Chelsea Campus).<\/p>\n

Documentation Studio director Lauren Stauble is developing a menu of opportunities for educators, both in person and online. The opportunities include Play Labs, which alternate monthly with Open Studios for educators to share and lead discussions on documentation. For more about Play Labs, check out the one that was held November 17<\/a> and December 3 (in Spanish).<\/p>\n

The Documentation Studio was founded in 2008 by BU Wheelock faculty member Stephanie Cox Su\u00e1rez, along with Melissa Rivard from the Making Learning Visible project at Harvard University’s Project Zero, who were inspired by educators from Reggio Emilia, Italy, and their use of documentation. They created the Documentation Studio as a space for educators to learn about, develop, and exhibit documentation from a variety of learning contexts. The Wonder of Learning: The Hundred Languages of Children\u00a0<\/strong> (June\u2013November 2018)
\nThis traveling exhibit from Reggio Emilia, Italy illustrated thoughtful documentation of children and teachers\u2019 learning drew\u00a0 over 8,000 visitors.\u00a0 A wealth of professional development opportunities were offered including workshops, hands-on learning, policy discussions, and family engagement.\u00a0 To learn more, watch the video below or read “BU Hosts The Wonder of Learning: The Hundred Languages of Children<\/i><\/a>.”<\/p>\n
