The Mathematics Education program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development prepares educators to teach mathematics effectively to students with diverse learning types, backgrounds, and skills. Whether our graduates are teaching elementary schoolers how to add single-digit numbers or leading high schoolers through the intricacies of differential calculus, they are able to explain mathematical concepts clearly and accessibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students complete the Mathematics Education program with a strong knowledge of the pedagogical techniques they will need to successfully lead their own classrooms. They will also explore the importance of social justice and equity, learning ways they as educators can address the historical barriers that many communities have faced in the mathematics classroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Boston University’s Mathematics Education program offers several options for mathematics educators, including a Master of Education (EdM), a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS).
