Baby Nanny Needed in Jamaica Plain
Posted 9/8/2023
Looking for a nanny to take care of our baby boy (who will be three months old on August 8th) in Jamaica Plain when we go back to work! We’re ideally hoping to find someone open to a nanny-share with another local family so our baby has a buddy and we can share the costs and create community, but that’s not a deal-breaker for the right fit if a single family is preferred.
My husband and I both primarily work from home, and we share an old, rambling house with my lovely, retired parents. We have a 15-year-old, very sweet, calm dog (who sleeps all day and just comes around for treats). Our house has quite a few stairs, but, bonus, we have a big yard to enjoy on nice days, and we’re in a good location for adventures to the Pond, Arnold Arboretum, baby music classes and activities, and access to/from public transportation.
In a nutshell:
We’re hoping to find someone who loves babies (and has at least some experience caring for them) to become an extension of the family and provide a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for our baby and (maybe) another baby for three days a week!
Infant first aid & CPR certification appreciated and must be up to date on flu/Covid/DAP vaccines.
Ideally we would like to start sometime in mid August or early September. Hoping for a long-term situation if it works out for everyone.
Part-time — Approx 24-30 hours/week (any three days between M-Th from 9/10am – 5/6pm)
Anticipated Pay: TBD depending on individual care vs. nanny-share and level of experience

First Church Boston Child Care Provider
Posted 9/26/2023
Sunday Morning Childcare at First Church Boston Unitarian-Universalist
First Church Boston Unitarian Universalist seeks 2 childcare providers to care for children aged one-year through 2nd grade while their parents/caregivers attend church services. First Church Boston is located in the Back Bay, on the corner of Berkeley and Marlborough.
Care would be provided in a classroom of the John Winthrop School, a preschool located on the lower level of the church, primarily using the toys and books available. First Church would supplement these with books or simple activities that reflect our Unitarian Universalist values and principles. The number of children would be small initially, as the First Church congregation currently includes only one or two families with small children. So, providers would need to be prepared to work with varying numbers and ages of children from Sunday to Sunday. In addition to providing basic care and engagement for the children, responsibilities would include welcoming parents at drop-off and pick-up and leaving the classroom tidy and ready for Monday classes.
Schedule: Sunday mornings, 10:30 am to 1 pm; mid-October through mid-June
Pay rate: $65 per Sunday session.
Experience with young children, preferably in a daycare or school setting, required.
