
Jay Halfond
Professor of the Practice Emeritus
Dr. Jay Halfond, professor of the practice emeritus, was the dean of Boston University’s Metropolitan College. He oversaw a large, multidisciplinary, innovative college, along with summer term, online distance learning, and various international initiatives for the University. He became a professor teaching full-time in 2013, and currently is a professor of the practice emeritus. He teaches one course each term for BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development and advises online students for the Higher Education Administration program.

Selected Publications
I have published over two hundred articles -- mostly essays and opinion pieces -- and primarily focused on issues in higher education. I have also written many case studies on challenges administrators face in the university.

I have made over seventy external presentations -- mostly at national professional association conferences. I have also headed several major initiatives and task forces that produced reports and presentations.
