Emily Stolz
Research Fellow, Center on the Ecology of Early Development (CEED)
Emily Stolz, MEd, is a research fellow at the Center on the Ecology of Early Development (CEED) at Boston University. Emily’s research interests center on the ways in which schools support the ethnic-racial identity development of young children. She approaches this topic from a strengths-based, ecological lens by considering the messages that children receive about their ethnic-racial background from a myriad of influences including teachers, administrators, and school structures. She has experience conducting literature reviews, synthesizing research, and developing and administering professional learning experiences for educators.
Before working at CEED, Emily was an elementary teacher in two large public school districts where she used art, movement, and inquiry-based pedagogical methods to create joyful learning spaces. She completed her MEd at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in the Human Development and Education program and her BS in elementary education from DePaul University’s College of Education.
