Claire White is the program director of the Child Life & Family-Centered Care graduate program, the first academic program in the United States and the first to be endorsed by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). She has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses and supervises students completing child life internships in healthcare and community programs. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS).

Claire White coordinated and taught the Hospitalized Child in England summer course at historic Wheelock College from 1999 until 2012. She has more than 30 years of professional experience working in child life and early intervention and was the recipient of the historic Wheelock College’s Cynthia Longfellow Award for teaching in 2003. She holds leadership positions within the professional organization the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) and is a member of the Founders Council, Child Life Academic Society (CLAS). Her most recent publications and presentations are about the history of the child life profession.
