BU Wheelock sat down with Dr. Yasuko Kanno, associate professor of language education and chair of BU Wheelock’s department of Language & Literacy Education to hear about her new book. Entitled English Learners’ Access to Postsecondary Education: Neither College nor Career Ready, the book is an ethnographic case study exploring seven English-learners’ transition from high school to postsecondary education. Dr. Kanno shares her research process, ways to best support English-learners, and opportunities for future investigation.
