The Special Education program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development prepares professionals to support students with disabilities effectively and skillfully. Students in the Special Education program are part of a unique and collaborative community of special education advocates, researchers, and practitioners all committed to ensuring equitable educational outcomes for all students, especially those with disabilities.
Students can choose from among several different options that meet a variety of professional goals and interests, including programs that lead to licensure in moderate or severe disabilities. The program includes several flexible master’s degrees and graduate certificates (autism & emotional/behavioral disorders, moderate disabilities, and severe disabilities) to suit different professional needs. Boston University also offers a dual degree program in conjunction with Boston University’s School of Social Work, through which students can earn a dual master of social work/master of education (MSW/EdM).
